Literature that moves

We are delighted that the texts of our popular morning concerts are now also available in book form!

Each year, the Carinthian Summer Festival commissions eight writers to create new texts on a specific theme. The only other requirement is a reading time of approximately ten minutes.

The theme for 2024 was freedom. Eight authors explored it in very different, touching, and inspiring ways: Anna Baar, Sabine Gruber, Sophia Lunra Schnack, Kathrin Röggla, Martin Piekar, Milena Michiko Flašar, Julia Jost, and Maja Haderlap.

In 2025, the second series followed, featuring texts on the theme of hope, written by Verena Dolovai, Tamara Štajner, Vea Kaiser, Sophie Reyer, Kholoud Charaf, Hamed Abboud, Anna Kim and Doron Rabinovici.

Topics of our time – from the perspective and in the style of contemporary authors: for reading, reflection and further thought.

The books are available at our ticket office at Hans-Gasser-Platz 5 – we look forward to your visit!
