Christmas is fast approaching! Tomorrow, the Villach Advent season opens. The entire city and the parish church, where our Advent concert will take place, will be aglow with lights. Villach is well worth a visit, even in winter! Perhaps you've already wondered if it will be possible again this year to place tickets for the Carinthian Summer Festival under the Christmas tree as gifts. Yes! Between December 12th and 24th our Christmas pre-sale instead and therefore we cordially invite you to a Open House into our office: on December 12.12th between 14 pm and 18 pm. I am already looking forward to chatting with you about the new program over mulled wine and festival sparkling wine from the Köck winery and Christmas cookies.
Our colleagues in Carinthian cultural institutions are also working on fantastic projects. From time to time, I like to highlight some of them here in our newsletter. For example, I would like to draw your attention to the panel discussion "The Repressed Trauma" on November 20, 2024, at 6 p.m. at the Carinthia Museum in Klagenfurt. It is part of the important and impressive special exhibition "They Want to Kill Us – Bombs Against Minorities 1993–1996," on which our colleague Lydia Novak also contributed. The panel discussion will explore several open questions.
The panelists are: Ilija Messner, Gitka Opetnik, Hellwig Valentin, Vladimir Wakounig and Sabina Zwitter | Moderated by: Kathrin Stainer-Hämmerle. ADMISSION FREE! – A heartfelt recommendation, as I recommend the entire exhibition, which can be seen until November 24.11th!

We are so happy for her and congratulate her most sincerely. Morning concerts will of course be offered again next Carinthian Summer Festival!

Our festival orchestra, the fantastic ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra and its chief conductor Marin Alsop, have received a GRAMMY nomination! We are absolutely thrilled about this well-deserved recognition.
