Award for Claire Huangci

We congratulate pianist Claire Huangci on being awarded the Diapason d'Or – the “Golden Tuning Fork”, one of the most prestigious awards for classical music in France.

She has been a guest at the Carinthian Summer Festival for the past two years, performing in both the opening and closing concerts. Anyone who has seen her perform knows that she is not just an exceptionally virtuosic pianist, but an artist with the finest sensitivity, depth, courage, and impressive musical intelligence. We are therefore all the more delighted to welcome Claire Huangci back to Carinthia in 2026.

On Sunday, July 19, at 11:00 a.m. in Ossiach, she will present a matinee entirely dedicated to her American homeland. Entitled "Pictures in Blue," the program will feature George Gershwin's legendary Rhapsody in Blue , as well as music by Samuel Barber and works by the great composers Amy Beach and Florence Price, which was also performed at this year's New Year's Concert by the Vienna Philharmonic.
