The story of a Persian prince who innocently gets caught in the maelstrom of his adversaries' intrigues, and from whose sacrifice a new plant, a symbol of life, grows: This is the ancient tale of Siavash from the Book of Kings, the oldest Persian epic collection.
The five musicians of the group Kurdophone, with Kurdish, Iranian, and Austrian roots, bring this Persian storytelling tradition into the present day. The multi-award-winning author and Bachmann Prize winner Nava Ebrahimi, herself originally from Iran and one of the most radiant voices in German-language literature, revives the legend of Siavash on behalf of the Carinthian Summer Festival.
