Born in Slovakia, Susanne Gregor came to Austria at the age of nine. Today, she is one of the most renowned voices in Austrian literature, telling stories of the two countries in precise language and with great depth. Her text for the Carinthian Summer Festival revolves around remembering the time of the Iron Curtain and the civil courage shown despite the threat of personal disadvantages. The Austrian guitarist, singer, and composer Julia Malischnig combines virtuosity and emotional depth in her playing.
