Sparks

We are delighted to announce a new collaboration with the Klagenfurt City Theatre and the ORF Carinthia regional studio: The discussion series "Funkensprünge" ( Sparks) explores topics that are addressed in major stage productions. The evenings will be moderated by our artistic director, Nadja Kayali.

The first edition on October 6, 2025, was inspired by Henrik Ibsen's play * The Lady from the Sea* , which premiered at the Klagenfurt City Theatre on October 9. In it, the title character, Ellida Wangel, yearns for "something else" that will liberate her from her bourgeois life with her husband. When a stranger suddenly appears at her door and asks her to go with him, she discovers that something else has long been developing within her consciousness: Now is the chance to find herself…

Hope and freedom – these are also the themes of the texts that various authors wrote for our morning concerts, some of which could also be heard this evening.

The guests for discussion on October 6th were Maja Haderlap , Tamara Štajner and Univ.-Prof. Alice Pechriggl.

The interview was broadcast live on ORF Radio Carinthia and is available to listen to here .
