Our final concert: West Side Stories

Our festival summer ended with the brilliant closing concert West Side Stories with our festival orchestra, the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna under the direction of Marin Alsop, and the fantastic pianist Claire Huangci!

The program included George Gershwin's Cuban Overture and his Piano Concerto in F major. Leonard Bernstein's Symphonic Dances from "West Side Story" and his Three Dance Episodes from "On the Town" also offered captivating rhythms.

We are overwhelmed by the tremendous interest – even the public dress rehearsal was packed and ended with a standing ovation and cheers. The evening concert at the Villach Congress Center was completely sold out.
Thank you to all the visitors who spent such a wonderful festival summer with us and celebrated the Carinthian Summer!

The concert was recorded by ORF III and is available as a stream on ORF ON until February 20, 2026.
