Moved through four centuries

The last few days at the Carinthian Summer Festival have been so varied ✨

✨In her lecture at the Carinthian Museum in Klagenfurt, cultural studies scholar Aleida Assmann explored the question of hope. The evening was musically accompanied by the Company of Music.

✨The Villach Summer Cinema, in cooperation with the Carinthian Summer Festival, opened with the silent film classic "Tabu" by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau. The music by composer Violeta Dinescu was performed live by the Ensemble NeuRaum under the direction of Bruno Strobl.

✨Monteverdi's Vespers of the Blessed Virgin Mary unfolded in Villach's city parish church with unique splendor – featuring magnificent instruments, virtuoso solos, a multi-part choir, and musicians distributed throughout the church. The Company of Music, the Chorus sine nomine, and Conderto Stella Matutina united under the direction of Johannes Hiemetsberger to create a unique ensemble sound.

✨Eckart Runge, Festival Artist 2024, and Jaques Ammon led the audience through different styles and eras of dance music with their captivating arrangements.

✨Based on Julius Eastman's composition "Femenine", a musical-choreographic happening took place in the Domenig Stenhaus, inviting the audience to immerse themselves in new sound worlds – performed by Studio Dan and danced by the ensemble around choreographer Eva-Maria Schaller.
