FINTango – the opening concert

Our opening concert on July 5th was a complete success! Numerous guests of honor were invited to the ceremony, including Vice Chancellor Andreas Babler, Governor Peter Kaiser, Villach's Mayor Günther Albel, and the chairman of the Carinthian Summer Association, Klemens Fheodoroff.
The Company of Music, soprano Verena Tranker, trombonist Bertl Mütter and the TrioVanBeethoven gave a musical preview of the diverse festival program.

Following this, HK Gruber's Clarinet Concerto FINTango celebrated its world premiere – with the magnificent Sharon Kam as soloist and our festival orchestra, the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. The work was commissioned by the Carinthian Summer Festival, the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Swedish Chamber Orchestra.
In the second half of the concert, HK Gruber spontaneously took over the role of the chansonnier in his work Frankenstein!! and thrilled the audience with his energy.
