Pupils – World Premiere
On Saturday, Birgit Minichmayr read a political fable written in a Russian prison at the Kammerlichtspiele cinema in Klagenfurt. Director Zhenya Berkovich has been imprisoned in a women's prison in Moscow since 2024, sentenced to six years in a penal colony. Despite all the intimidation, she wrote a text in prison, which the Carinthian Summer Festival had translated and has now staged for the first time.
We are delighted with the great reviews of our evening, which will be repeated on July 31st.
